Top 3 Coffee Shop Picks for the Manila Freelancer (As of May 2017)
When you're working as a freelancer in Manila, it can be tough to find a place to work where it's (somewhat) quiet, where the internet is fast and reliable, where there are outlets (so so so important, especially for me), and where there's good coffee to fuel productivity. And sometimes, when I need a change of scenery, I go to these places that meet all of my criteria.
Joya Lofts and Towers, Rockwell, Makati City (Open Daily: 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM)
Promenade Mall, Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan City (Open 7:00 AM - 1:00 AM)
This is my number one pick. Not only do they serve a smooth long black and have really good cafe food but if you want to treat yourself to a (*cough*, well-deserved) drink after long day of work, you can. They have also have a great Happy Hour promo and you can even create your own Gin and Tonic combinations from a number of choices. I, personally, like working in the Greenhills branch because of it's proximity to where I live but the Rockwell branch is just as good (though its ambient lighting can be a bit darker at night).

2/F C3, Bonifacio High Street Central, Bonifacio Global City (Open Daily: 7:00 AM - 2:00 AM)
Ground Floor, Edades Garden, Amorsolo Corner Rockwell Drive, Rockwell, Makati City (Open Daily: 7:00 AM - 2:00 AM)
When I find myself in the Rockwell area, I like going to this branch (especially when the AC of Refinery was out) to work. Their staff is always very helpful and friendly; they have sockets in every table (as if they know that people like me are going to be there for long periods of time) and the food and coffee is awesome.

The Pearl Place, Pearl Drive, Ortigas Center, Pasig City (Open from Mondays to Saturdays: 7:00 AM - 10:00 PM)
This coffee shop is another favorite of mine. While they don't have any boozy selections like Refinery or Single Origin, their coffee is actually really good. I'm a simple creature, I usually just order iced black coffee but when I do and when the mood feels right, I like to accompany it with something sweet to cut through the bitter goodness of the caffeine. They've got so many yummy desserts that go really well with their Cold Drip or Long Black.

Now, I can obviously work from anywhere and there are so many other coffee shops I go to (like the ubiquitous Starbuckses and CBTLs of Manila), and these are great. But if I were to choose, I would choose these places just to mix things up (and also to treat myself a bit because these places don't exactly have Php5.00 vendo machine or 3 in 1 coffee). What are your Top Coffee Shop picks to work from? I'd love to know! Sound off in the comments below and maybe I can try a new place I might just love!
